Bharat Viswanadham commented on HDFS-5896:
------------------------------------------
Hi Hiroshi,
That is not a problem.
We can see if any others reply on this to know if it is still an issue.
>From my understanding, this is not an Issue as setName/getName are now
>threadsafe.
> DataXceiver and DFSOutputStream call Thread.setName(), which is not thread
> safe

> Project: Hadoop HDFS
> Issue Type: Bug
> Reporter: Hiroshi Ikeda

> Priority: Trivial
>
> org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.datanode.DataXceiver and
> org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.DFSOutputStream renames running threads, but
> Thread.setName() is not thread safe. Thread.setName() is currently intended
> to call before running the thread.
