This improvement was realized by deploying cblock cluster.
dfs.cblock.jscsi.server.address currently default to 127.0.0.1 which only
allows localhost to mount cblock drives, for external connections this config
needs to be changed to 0.0.0.0 to allow external connections.
This jira suggests that the default bind address should be changed to 0.0.0.0
