Thanks for the updated patch, your change mostly makes sense but since this is 
the last piece of key-deletion, we should be able to do end-to-end test in UT. 
Since you are busy recently, I am taking this over and will work on a new patch 
with such tests. I will also do some real cluster testing with this. This JIRA 
will credit to you as well.
