Yea, I agree the inconsistent units are a bit of a pain. But, as Eli says, the
convention elsewhere (eg 2NN and Checkpoiner) is to have checkpointPeriod in
seconds, so I wanted to be consistent with those other usages.
Also agree with Eli that the multiple parameters for the test cases cover both
the positive and negative cases.
Will commit this to the branch. Thanks to both of you for reviewing.
