[~zhz], this JIRA based on lessons learned from HDFS which currently does not
have DN audit log for user I/O activities. We intend to use this one to add
audit log for HDDS datanode plugin related I/O operations triggered by HDDS
client.
I agree we should do similar thing for HDFS datanode. The major concern is the
performance impact of audit log on DN itself. Using async audit log and allow
auditing only certain operations such as write could mitigate the performance
impact. This feature is likely to be disable by default until we have good
control over the performance impact.
