Virajith Jalaparti commented on HDFS-13794:
-------------------------------------------
Thanks for posting the patch [~ehiggs]. The patch looks good at a high-level. A
couple of questions:
(1) Why add a new {{DFS_PROVIDED_ALIASMAP_INMEMORY_RPC_BIND_HOST_KEY}} and not
use the existing {{DFS_PROVIDED_ALIASMAP_INMEMORY_RPC_BIND_HOST}}. They both
seem to serve the same purpose.
(2) Why add a new {{ITestInMemoryAliasMapProtocolClient}}? Unless I am missing
something, this seems to be testing the same functionality as the existing
{{TestInMemoryLevelDBAliasMapClient}}.

> When updating the BlockAliasMap we may need to deal with deleted blocks.
> Otherwise the BlockAliasMap will grow indefinitely(!).
> Therefore, the BlockAliasMap.Writer needs a method for removing blocks.
