Logged umbrella HDFS-13891 to stabilisation the phase-1 work which we are
targeting to 3.3 release.
bq.If needed, we can repeat this once that's done - if there are new misc.
things that we don't feel can go into trunk, we create 'feature branch y' and
set a new goal for it.
Sure, we can do, if there are more.
Discussed with [~elgoiri] same, [~elgoiri] please correct me,if I am wrong.
