Thanks [~ferhui] for following up.
I understand what happened now: this was in our internal code but apparently it
never made it into OSS (I went back to 2.6 and couldn't find it there).
Let's do the following:
# Commit [^HDFS-13802.001.patch]
# Open a new JIRA (HDFS-13989) adding [^HDFS-13802.002.patch] without a link in
the UI (unless we decide that it's something good to have).
To keep things clean, I'm removing [^HDFS-13802.002.patch] and it's now
[here|https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12943673/HDFS-13989.001.patch].
