I am trying to debug what is changed in this patch (as [~bharatviswa] reported,
s3g can be broken because this) but it's hard to understand what has been
happened here:
* It's not clear what what was the exact problem ("Server API layer is not
working as expected", but no information about the exceptions, problems and
proposed solutions)
* Multiple changes are added in the same commit (not sure which part fixes the
mentioned dependency problem, and hard to revert as there are multiple
(unrelated?) changes).
