I am not sure how many directory layout that you like to do for this project.  
The number of permutation can be minimized to two, one for source tree, and 
another for released binary structure.  If you like to make a third layout, 
then your code needs to be prepared to deal with all the scenarios above.  I 
would save the energy from doing a third layout, and provide executable wrapper 
commands to reference to files deep embedded in share directory.  This is more 
user-friendly than ask user to fish out files at specific location.

Hadoop script used to list each dependent jar files in the CLASSPATH 
environment variable.  This arrangement does not scale well on restricted 
environment where the MAX_ARG_STRLEN is only 128kb or sometimes 4kb.  In 
HADOOP-7939, the script were refined to put all jar files in a directory, and 
reference them by using * wild card to minimize the effect of over bloated 
CLASSPATH environment variable.  The solution is not perfect, but good enough 
for the last 7 years.  Hence, I recommend the same solution for setting up each 
classpath profiles for Ozone to skip some growing pain.

I acknowledge this is true, but wouldn't it be great to have a place holder for 
man page for ozone?  I remember the days programming without Internet or at 
offline sites.  Man pages are the great source of information for troubleshoots.
