bq. let's think of using existing parameters for disabling local writes in HA.
For example, in HA mode we can treat dfs.namenode.edits.dir = null as not
having local directories for writing.
I guess then we can do something like this, Just wanted to make sure, we don't
change the existing behavior, Not having the local edits should be an explicit
call.
Most importantly we should clearly document this behavior too.
