I am able to reproduce it, I tried putting a delay and this failed with same
exception. and with the fix works fine.
Adding the namechange mechanism LGTM.
Regarding HDFS-12319 part, we are here like reverting that only. And the JIRA
doesn't have any mention to what actually it did.
[~elgoiri] you were involved in the JIRA, Can you help us here please. :)
