Ayush Saxena commented on HDFS-14117:
-------------------------------------

Well, from my side too, I don't have any solution. :(  I tried on many
solutions, but all seems to have some loop hole, Couldn't find a perfect one.

[~hexiaoqiao] Let us know if you found one.

Not for rename but if we just focus trash and try to be smart at router as
already opposed. we can atleast get the trash support going provided we have
/user mount entry pointing to namespace user entry.

The need for having /user mount also can also be eliminated,  not very good way
but if we want we can by internally resolving the path to respective trash path
and invoke to respective namespace if to TRASH is there. But we need to do
quite a similar resolution for read request too, That might not be easy and
trying to do, if not done very carefully  may open up some security loop holes,
and may allow a hacky user to access the namespace. Need to be quite sure on
this.

> RBF: We can only delete the files or dirs of one subcluster in a cluster with
> multiple subclusters when trash is enabled

> When we delete files or dirs in hdfs, it will move the deleted files or dirs
> to trash by default.
> But in the global path we can only mount one trash dir /user. So we mount
> trash dir /user of the subcluster ns1 to the global path /user. Then we can
> delete files or dirs of ns1, but when we delete the files or dirs of another
> subcluser, such as hacluster, it will be failed.
