Testing local reads, I encountered an interesting problem. If you kill -9 the a
DN that has local data to a client (like a region server), the client will
continue using the local blocks. It seems like a change in semantics to me as
in normally if you kill a DN you can't read from it, but now you can if it's
local.
I agree that it's a rare case, the DN is dead but not the machine nor its
clients, and I can't think of a problem caused by this a the moment.
