TestEditLogJournalFailures silently failing

Because we use a crappy version of surefire, currently, we didn't notice this.
But, TestEditLogJournalFailures seems to be calling System.exit() -- Surefire
reports no tests run, errored, or skipped, but it's lying. I'll file a separate
JIRA to upgrade Surefire on trunk, but we also need to investigate this test
failure.
