I also tested this patch with HBase and it starts and I could create tables,
add/remove KVs, etc. So this patch should hold up to scrutiny now.
Please have a look! I believe this is an important patch for HBase (although I
do not currently have access to a real HBase cluster, so I cannot do actual
performance tests).
