Issue Type: Improvement (was: Bug)
I'm re-classifying this as an improvement, since it seems to be purely a style
improvement.
As you mentioned, HDFS doesn't store the executable bit, so changing this will
have no actual effect on the program behavior.
As always, feel free to change back if I messed up.
