Resolution: Duplicate
This was fixed in HDFS-3579. In that JIRA, we decided that hdfsExists should
return -1 and set errno = {{ENOENT}} when the file didn't exist. Other error
conditions will set different error codes, so you can tell them apart.
One of these days, it would be nice to clean up the return cdoes and eliminate
the tricky use of errno in the libhdfs interfaces, but that is a much bigger
(and incompatible) change.
