Nice improvement.
Nitpick about the license headers in the new files. Could you please move them
to the top of the files for consistency? I am +1 otherwise.
Does the same fix work in branch-1? If so you could consider attaching a patch
for branch-1 although that certainly won't prevent getting this in trunk.
