I will address Andrew's comments in a another update.
There seem to be two types of behaviour on different linux:
1. "rm -r" remove empty dir without problem on Andrew's system Ubuntu 12.04
2. "rm -r" prompts question to user to answer yes/no on my CentOs6 and Tsz Wo's
Mac
For CentOs, using "rm -r -f" deletes with no prompt to user.
I did try -f switch with hdfs, and see it has the same problem as reported (see
blow). With linux, using -f will remove the file without prompting to ask user.
I wonder whether we should fix HDFS's -f switch.
