Why not use {{JvmPauseMonitor}} on the NFS gateway the same way we use it on 
the NameNode and DataNode?  {{JvmPauseMonitor}} is enabled by default (in fact, 
it can't be turned off) and it always lets us know if the GC is acting up.  It 
also works on every JVM and is on by default.
