yes.Of course, you need stop the cluster before the move and restart it with new config.
I set up my HDFS in a less that the best place in my file system. I would like to move it. the lazy bum in me wants to just do a $ cp ... and not suffer. But I would hate to take a stab at this only to uncover some unforseen horror.
