I am a beginner of hadoop,and when I study about the utility of hadoop.I find that there is only one namenode which is key to the whole system. Hdfs provides a auxiliary namenode which is helpful when the namenode crashes,but this process maybe waste a lot of time .What I am trying to say is that can we design the hdfs to the multi-master mode with no single points of failure or such as dual-system hot backup.
