I read an article [*] today which suggested asking participants for
biographical information before starting the survey.  Also, it was
suggested to ask about the seriousness of the participant.  For example:

How serious are you about participating in this survey?

( ) earnest desire to make a contribution to science
( ) somewhere inbetween
( ) looking for something to pass the time

Reips claimed that these kinds of questions help draw participants into
the experiment and reduce the attrition rate.
