I already updated OCLC. There are two libraries in the United States and two
libraries in Israel than own a copy of the book.
I couldn't find on Even-Zohar's website a mention of this title: He was 19
years old when the book was published.

Dear all,

This note is for the five AJL affiliated libraries who hold this title (Ben
yaʻar habe-reshit. Tel Aviv: M. Nyuman, 1957; 4 different OCLC #s). The
author’s name should be linked to the authority file of Sekelj, Tibor,
1912-1988, a Jewish Esperanto scholar and world traveler whose Kumeŭaŭa, la
filo de la ĝangalo (Kumewawa, the son of the jungle) was translated into many
languages, including Hebrew (this title; a children's book about the life of
Brazilian Indians).

See the following Wikipedia
page<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibor_Sekelj__;!!KGKeukY!19lJSKBDHLU6ZGleqWsPQL47taNgKecReYtcpW4-fr9xSirOyP1py__lzKLgVrJCR0KjLANOF7IsIo3IifpeucqFhPwQSRg$>:
Tibor Sekelj (14 February 1912 – 23 September 1988), also known as Székely
Tibor according to Hungarian orthography, was a Hungarian born polyglot,
explorer, author, and 'citizen of the world.' In 1986 he was elected a member
of the Academy of Esperanto and an honorary member of the World Esperanto
Association. Among his novels, travel books and essays, his novella Kumeŭaŭa,
la filo de la ĝangalo ("Kumewawa, the son of the jungle"), a children's book
about the life of Brazilian Indians, was translated into seventeen languages,
and in 1987 it was voted best Children's book in Japan. In 2011 the European
Esperanto Union declared 2012 "The Year of Tibor Sekelj" to honor the 100th
anniversary of his birth.

This Pantheon
page<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://pantheon.world/profile/person/Tibor_Sekelj__;!!KGKeukY!19lJSKBDHLU6ZGleqWsPQL47taNgKecReYtcpW4-fr9xSirOyP1py__lzKLgVrJCR0KjLANOF7IsIo3IifpeucqFOVp-kT4$>
hints (or that is how I read it) that his travels were related to him being
the head of the Yugoslavian intelligence service (the fact he was Jewish is not
mentioned).

I hope that helps... Once the Hebrew title is added, I hope that the
bio-bibliographic entries are corrected, too.

How did I fall into this rabbit hole? By searching the cultural/ translation
studies scholar Itamar Even-Zohar on WorldCat.

Thanks,

Rachel
