It's quite obvious that something in the OpenOffice registration or related procedure is subscribing innocent people to this mailing list. I'm sure that it's some sort of mistake, but can this mistake be fixed, PLEASE? this is really not a bad situation for a hell of a lot of reasons as I'm sure you're aware.
