First, I must correct you and humbly admit that my only contributions to OpenOffice has been mainly of PR and administrative value: I made the openoffice.org.il original web page and had some negligible part in getting the Israeli government, Sun and the local il18n experts (tkos and netmask) to talk to each other. Other then that I'm simply a (mostly) satisfied user :-) In respect to the issue at hand: I believe you should have no problem what so over to run OpenOffice with Hebrew suppot on an English Windows XP. You should be aware that the "Hebrew" version on openoffice.org.il adds mainly Hebrew language menus and spellchecker and that the "standart" version of openoffice.org (v1.1 and onwards) actually support typing and reading Hebrew out of the box (but you have to switch on a flag for that in the Options -> languages menu). Mind you, I don't actually use Windows, XP or otherwise, personally, but my wife does and it seems to work. I've CCed the Hebrew Open Office mailing list on this reply. If you have more question, this is the right place to send it to. There are people there much more knowledgable then me on the subject :-) Cheers, Gilad -- Gilad Ben-Yossef <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Codefidence.
