Hi,
In a documentation project I do, the customer insists on MS PowerPoint, I tried to use OOffice but had a lot of difficulties.
1. They gave me a template but it didn't work well. 2. I had to do "View Master" (MS Master/Slide) and fix some fields. 3. Some fields in the "View Master" were not functioning such as in text block I couldn't change the text. 4. the font "Arial black" did not do "Italic"
Not surprising. OpenOffice does not "fake" font wights- it uses the typefaces that you have available. For example, "Arial Italic" is a separate font then "Arial regular". The standard "Arial black" that comes with Windows does not have an "Arial Black italic" variant, so OpenOffice can't display what you asked from it.
5. Eventually, when I returned the project it had a lot of compatibility issues.
Any guidelines for compatibility with MS PowerPoint ?
Well, I can't answer the rest of your issues without seeing the file in question. In general, a good guide for compatibility can be found at:
