Shalom
I have both directionality and alignment set. As I explained
just as Word goes over to English for numbers, so my
version of Open Office goes over to English for punctuation
marks as well as numbers, even when I am using a Hebrew font.
It is possibly my fault as I tend to ignore interim updates
and wait for the next full version (version 2.0).
If the interim updates make a real difference, I will install them

First- please reply to the list and just to me- that way more people can
answer.
It seems that both of us are getting confused :-)
I confused you with another poster that asked a similar question today,
but it does seem that the answer still applies.
As for upgrading- I haven't mentioned it at all. I don't know the date for
the final 2.0.
Still, back to your problem- Do you have directionality set or just
alignment set?

I haven't updated from the original Hebrew version.
So it is probably my fault.
I was waiting for a new full version.
Is there a firm date for version 2.0, or should I take
updates?

The paragraph is defined with "yishur". The file is Hebrew
and the font is "David"

However, in my version of Open office, punctuation is also 'eng' and
thus a comma, for instance is attached to the following word and not
the word it belongs to. One sees a space between the word and the
punctuation mark.
What is the solution?
I am not sure if I understand tyour problem. Is the paragraph set as
RTL? Have you enabled CTL support in your OpenOffice under
tools--options--languages?
