Hi Shoshannah,
I am neither surprised or worried that the OpenOffice forum is not very active. I would not expect it to generate as much traffic as be as say a forum for mountain bike riders, or even a forum forum for Linux geeks.

As Asaf notes, we are open to any new ideas and we try to think of new ideas ourselves. The forum itself is a pretty new idea.

The other new ideas that I thought of recently are 1) to hold an OOo users conference (small scale, low budget, mostly for schools and small companies) or 2) to provide a Tinderbox service for developers to try their own code, or 3) to organize a network of students to distribute OOo CD's at the beginning of the next academic year to every student in Israel.

August or September, before the start of the school or academic year is probably the best time for a conference. Setting up Tinderbox services is not cheap or easy, so I would want to know that there is serious interest before proceeding.

One thing that we *cannot* do is to be personally involved in the forum or the mailing list on anything more than an occasional basis. The community must do this. My job is to find the right tools and activities to generate the community.
