Okay, I've just opened a PR that fixes this. Unfortunately, I've found that there are similar issues with ElasticSearchOutput's recovery, which are taking a bit longer to work out. I'll keep working on it, but I probably won't finish it today. And I'm unavailable tomorrow and all weekend, which means that the fix won't land until Monday, which means that the v0.9.2 release (which will contain both fixes) won't be able to go out until at least Monday.
