Hi fellow HelenOS-ers,

Our lab at Rutgers University (New Jersey, USA, between NYC and
Philadelphia) is looking for perspective students to join architecture
research group.

The lab is headed by prof. Abhishek Bhattacharjee[0], and we are doing
research on the hw/sw boundary, exploring low level sw behavior and
exploiting it in hw design.

We are looking for students with background in OS programming who are
not afraid to work on the lowest level (device drivers, OS architecture
support, compiler code generation, ...). we also do hw design so any
background in EE is also welcome (although I did not have any when I
joined and it was not a problem)

This email is mainly directed at the current GSoC students (Wolf,
Agniezska) since both of them are working on driver projects, but anyone
else who is interested is welcome as well.

few pieces of useful information:
 - you don't need a Masters degree to go for PhD in the US, Bc. is good
enough
 - don't worry about financing
 - yes, it involves a lot of work
 - the PhD comic (and movie) is surprisingly accurate :)

If you have any questions, or are considering applying, please contact
me off list.

regards,
Jan
