Hi, as you may have noticed, I've just tagged 16 existing HelenOS tickets with the gsoc16 keyword. All of these have been suggested in some of the previous years of the program, so they shouldn't need much refactoring. I didn't tag 4 gsoc15 tickets because they are either being currently worked on or have been already implemented to some extent.
I have also slightly adapted the accompanying text to fit 2016 and be more informative. Feel free to improve it further. As we have discussed during the last hangout, I also have a list of rough, prospective GSoC ideas that could be turned or promoted into actual GSoC ideas: * GDB TCP/IP stub server for remote debugging * BeagleBoard XM OTG USB controller support (makes sense, Jano?) * Dynamic linker for non-x86 platforms * Creator Ci40 base/enhanced platform support * MIPS routerboard base/enhanced platform support * Turris Omnia base/enhanced patform support (consult with NIC.CZ guys) Non-HelenOS, but related projects that we could mentor: * Cross-breed Ski & QEMU in order to get qemu-ia64-softmmu * Improve GRUB2 to be able to boot HelenOS on non-x86 platforms * Switch to uboot on platform where it makes sense HelenOS web related: * HelenOS project web functional and visual remake and integration with HelenOS trac As for this last one, not sure if it can or should be a GSoC idea. Maybe we need to do something about it before GSoC starts? Looking forward to your suggestions and enhancements to the above list.
