What: 91st HelenOS project meeting
When: May 12, 2016, 19:00
Where: Zubajda pub in Prague
Who: VH, JJ, MD, JS
Scribe: JJ
Round table:
VH:
- was looking at some of the JM's harbours (port of QEMU)
- told us about the new CI page for the second time:
http://helenos.alisma.cz/ci/
- has been already only ten minutes from fixing #619
JJ:
- worked on the helenos.org web, pretty much satisfied with the
current state
- edited documentation, User's Guide
- removed open-ended enhancement tickets from the next milestone
- integrated two fixes from Manuele
- finished conversion of .global symbols to macros from abi/asmtool.h
on all architectures
- got rid of the SYS_SET_TLS syscall entirely
- treats %gs:0 / %fs:0 as a virtual register, preserved during
context switches
- TLS can be now set without going to the kernel
- ~9% increase of tester ping_pong roundtrips per second on amd64
- makes use of gcc switch -mno-tls-direct-seg-refs
- unfortunately, clang does not support -mno-tls-direct-seg-refs
- fixed smc_coherence() name conflict
- modernize kernel C and asm sources by using designated initializers
and getting rid of many numeric constants in favour of symbolic
constants and autogenerated offsets
- provide a means to specify make dependencies among autogenerated
headers
- upgraded to QEMU 2.6.0
- PC/AT scancodes for Integrator/CP (QEMU 2.6.0 reverted previous
change)
MD:
- upgraded server that hosts helenos.org
- upgraded Trac to Trac 1.0.1
- fixed post-commit hook
- created CI repository for VH's CI framework
JS:
- dynamic linking improvements
- TLS improvements
Other agenda:
- make sure to vote in the doodle for the HelenOS Camp 2016:
http://doodle.com/poll/8y4t39ytxu8z8ayq
- consider idling in #helenos on IRC, otherwise having an IRC
channel is debatable
