I've used bison to develop a parser for a small, ASCII-based file
format. I've also developed a JSON parser (two, actually) and, for that
purpose, the thought of using Bison never crossed my mind. In fact, for
simple languages I believe it tends to be much less of a hassle to
simply develop the parser by hand instead of forcing Bison to do our
bidding.
