Alas, I'm working with Linux, Solaris and AIX. This issue is with svn tag checkouts. In this case 3.0.4p2. I admit I'm not much of a build expert beyond the minimum steps of configure, make and make install. Still I went through some hoops to create a build script that works on all of my targets when using tar balls.
