Chris, your notes are reasonable. I've changed "item" to "promise" to make it clearer. Still I believe that it's not that easy to ignore "promise" part. What important part is left from the description is the syntax for calling edit_line bundles and compound bodies from the promises description. I didn't invent the short and clear way to describe it yet.
