Forum: Cfengine Help Subject: File descriptor 20 of child 8036 higher than MAX_FD, check for defunct children Author: Seva Gluschenko Link to topic: https://cfengine.com/forum/read.php?3,19424,19424#msg-19424
Hello folks, while I certainly remember this theme has been discussed in this forum recently, somehow forum search cannot find it. Anyway, here's what I've got. There are several hosts in my setup which have run Cfengine 3.0.5p1 for few months already: root 6162 0.0 0.3 107004 12448 ? Ss Sep08 17:32 /var/cfengine/bin/cf-execd root 6473 0.0 3.4 1923772 142204 ? Ss Sep08 6:58 /var/cfengine/bin/cf-serverd Today they've started floodin' outputs with tons of messages like this: ... File descriptor 20 of child 8034 higher than MAX_FD, check for defunct children File descriptor 20 of child higher than MAX_FD, check for defunct children File descriptor 20 of child 8035 higher than MAX_FD, check for defunct children File descriptor 20 of child higher than MAX_FD, check for defunct children ... After restart, both services downsized a lot: root 11932 0.0 0.3 19164 13708 ? Ss 12:44 0:00 /var/cfengine/bin/cf-execd root 11982 0.0 0.3 19728 14632 ? Ss 12:44 0:00 /var/cfengine/bin/cf-serverd Since memory leaks fix is mentioned in the ChangeLog for the version 3.1.1 in cf-serverd, we can hope that this issue has gone (especially if the fix tackles cf-execd, too). Anyway, I've found it worth reporting. _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
