malte. I have just started with cfengine too. I first found traction with Michael Potter's boilerplate configuration and his brief HOW-TO. https://github.com/megamic/cfengine3-boilerplate I think the only edits I had to do were explicitly in the HOW-TO. I've stuck to one host acting as its own server so far. I have it doing for itself some of what I want my server to do for other machines. After you get the boilerplate running, start looking up the pieces of it in the cf3-Reference. Experiment. Stay away from system files at first. You can wipe stuff out very easily! I'm hoping next to clone that 1st cfengine config (but not my mastersfiles) onto a second machine and make that the client of the first machine. After that I think cloning the client should go smoothly.
