neilhwatson - thank for the idea. At first I was trying to this in this way but I figured that there are servers which are diveded by: * tier (frontend, backend, databases, filers, firewalls, balancers, etc.) * type (bare metal, virtual) * admin ownership * development stage (devel, integration, staging, production), etc. The FQDN doesn't make much sense if you have several thousands of servers and lots of them is deployed dynamically.
