Forum: CFEngine Help Subject: ?? custom 'compare' option in 'copy_from' ?? Author: hartikka Link to topic: https://cfengine.com/forum/read.php?3,22890,22890#msg-22890
Hi All, I'd like configure cfengine to distinguish between what I deem 'legal' and 'illegal' changes in certain files. ( I have certain files that the user can change with a utility - the utility produces 'legal' changes. Changes that don't look like what the utility does would be illegal. ) In the reference, the ‘compare’ menu option of the 'copy_from' compound body offers these items. atime, mtime, ctime, digest, hash exists, binary I wish there were another option here - a way I could specify a 'custom' policy for comparing source and image file attributes. This custom policy would trigger my external script that cfengine would use to decide if the source and image match. Am I misguided? Is there a standard cfengine solution for what I want? Thanks for any kind of input. Ron _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
