Sounds to me like a job for cf-runagent with a class-controlled bundlesequence and the -D option And "me" in this case is "someone who prefers not to use Control-M, even though it's used heavily by other areas in my company". I'm not sure if it's our implementation or the product itself, but it seems to have some sketchy behavior when launching certain scheduled programs. I've not had similar issues with launching anything from Cfengine.
