Re: the "problem" (in ITIL-speak): Like you, I have other, more simple
contexts in which setting one variable, then immediately setting another
variable whose name is based on the first, works. I have a working:
class_eth_2_3::
"bond0" slist => { "eth2", "eth3" };
class_eth_4_5::
"bond0" slist => { "eth4", "eth5" };
class_bond0::
"$(bond0)" string => "bond0";
So my incident sounds like a manifestation of a bug. Do you agree? If so,
then I'll open a bug report.
(By the way, I'm trapped on 3.1.4, unable to upgrade to 3.2.x, because of a
serious SEGV fault: bug 839, fixed in trunk, but not yet available in any
official release.)
