I would rather check for the binary first then run returnzero() to avoid the
problem. For example;
classes:
any::
"have_customfile" expression => fileexists("/usr/bin/customfile");
have_customfile::
"plugin" expression => returnszero("/usr/bin/customfile args | grep
pluginname","useshell");
