Juris: Thanks for the information about the zero-length "/proc" stuff. Bug report 1136 says "Fixed and scheduled for 3.3.3". But it also links to 1250 which says (a) that it duplicates 1136 and (b) "Fixed and scheduled for 3.4.0". So there is ambiguity about when the zero-length fix is scheduled. (I'm running RPM 3.3.4-1 (RHEL 5.x) which is between the two claimed fix points.) Anyway, that aspect is minor, although it would be nice to know which of the fixpoints is considered accurate.
