Ok. That patch would be great. Has it been rolled into the main distribution yet? I use debian packages but if it's been rolled into the source then I can submit a bug report to the package maintainer and they will update...

It's the same thing, you just skip the filename.$(role) step and use filename.$(host) then filename.generic . I think Brendan was pointing you at the patch that's attached to the page, which turns off the error messages you were noticing.
