loops in editfiles

In working with some files that are modified by other processes than cfengine, I've had to jump through some hoops to do the same AppendToLineIfNotContains on n lines in the file. Unless I've missed something in the documentation, there is no way to select a subset of lines from a file and do some kind of ForEachLineinSelection kind of thing.

Is that the kind of thing that would be useful to others in cfengine3?
