[h-e-w] Yank primary selection

Hi all, how can I yank the text in the "primary selection" on Win32? 
The Emacs manual seems to suggest that the normal yank should work.  But 
it doesn't:

(x-get-selection 'PRIMARY)
"https://www.google.com/";
(yank)
Windows Mousenil
