Did you index a collection before starting the gift server? (Otherwise
starting the server does not make much sense)
Did you give the path to a configuration file and the port number when
starting the gift server?
The message seems to mean to me that it is searching for the
configuration file at /root/gift-config.mrml but it does not seem to be
there.
Do you run gift as root?
In general it is best if you write as well which version of linux and
gcc you are using.

Hi
I recently installed GIFT using the commands below.
./configure
make
make check
make install
I did not notice any errors.
I typed "gift" to run program, however i got this response.
####################################################################
[EMAIL PROTECTED] gift-0.1.14]# gift

CAlgorithmCollection.cc:204:throwing AnVENotFound occured:

Did I make any errors during installation?
How can I get GIFT running properly?
Thanks!
