hello
Actually i tried to index images not from shell but from a web page itself.
It worked. the problem that accurs is:
i am uploading all images to only one folder and then suppose i click on add
from my web page, it adds the image to gift. when i want to do a content
search it gives me only the image i just uploaded to that folder. all
existing images details are replaced by the latter.
i wanted to know whether there is a solution in GIFT to that problem
thank you

Hi all,
I seem to be able to actually devote some time (maybe 10-25% of my work
force)
to actually adding functionality to the GIFT in the next few weeks. To
this
end, I would like to know what is the state on the following activities:
1. Faster feature extraction by reducing number of gift-extract-features
calls.
2. Indexing documents during run time.
Is anyone seriously working now on these points?
If so, please tell this list.
If not, anyone reading this list, please tell this list your preferences.
I will now do the --enable-perl flag needed for Gentoo.
Cheers,
Wolfgang
P.S.: I will tackle the topic "easy install" in the next mail.

Hi there,
I have the impression that the main obstacle for wider distribution is
that
there are some installation pitfalls. If I am to put some time into this
problem I would need some people who are ready to instal/reinstall GIFT
and
its prerequisites often in order to check if it installs well.
Please tell this thread if you are ready to do so.
Cheers,
Wolfgang

Hi, Wulf,
I believe to have fixed the problem (part one) in the latest CVS. Please
test.
There is now a --enable-perl-plugin flag for ./configure. By default the
perl
plugin is *disabled*.
Cheers,
Wolfgang
